Dogs & Babies/Toddlers - What's Your Opinion?

I grew up around Yorkies, there were Yorkies in the house before I was born - needless to say they are my favourite breed and I have two now. :yorkie: :yorkie: I had one Yorkie before Amelia was born and she adapted really well to having a baby in the house, she was sure to be careful and gentle around her and as Amelia has got older she's been trying to play with her. This past weekend Kayla came to live with us and she adapted straight away to having a baby around. I know that Amelia is going to love playing with them as she grows up and already takes delight in watching them play. She will be taught to be nice and gentle with the dogs as they are being with her.

I've noticed a difference of opinions with small children and dogs and I wondered what others opinions were... I hear some people say that dogs and children shouldn't be together till the child is older because the child could hurt the dog and some people are concerned that the dog may hurt the child... so what's your opinion?
