Hey mama's!!! I'd like to announce the birth of Haylie Peyton. Born September 3rd at 6:10pm.

It was AMAZING!!!!

I started having contractions on September 2nd. I noticed they were regular around 6:50pm so I began timing them. They were every 8 minutes.

Contractions conitnued through out the night but at about 1am she pulled herself out of the birth canal and flipped transverse (side to side). This is the worst position for them to be in, so I called my midwife. She told me she wants to see me in the morning if I haven't delivered overnight.

The next day (around noon), I went to get checked out at the midwives. She ended up flipping head down again but was in sort of an odd position. Her arm was over her face and her body was turned in the opposite direction lol

She asked if she could check me internally to confirm that she was infact head down and I agreed. The was the first and last internal exam I got! Im greatful for that lol.

Anywho, she checked me and confirmed that Haylie was inf act head down, but also that I was already 4cm dilated and my bag of waters was bulging. She told me to go get something to eat, relax and to call her if labor really kicks in.

I left there around 1pm, grabbed a bite to eat, went to the hardware store (to get a longer hose so I could fill the birthing tub), and heade back to my house. I got home around 3pm. My friend Delila dropped by about that time to check on me and to write a list of phone numbers to call so she was prepared when the birth was upon us.

Well, around 4pm I felt her DROP into the birth canal and contractions REALLY changed. The next one was 6 1/2 minutes. The one after that was 5 minutes...followed by 1 that was 3 minutes and the next one was 1 1/2 minutes..........and that's where it stayed as long as I was standing.

My friend Delila called my midwife. I honestly was just putting her on stand by but after talking to her she was like "uhh Renee, im coming now. Things are moving VERY quickly". Boy was she right.

While this was going on, DH was filling up the birthing tub (which we had placed outside on the back deck). I sat on a chair out there waiting for it to fill. At first the contractions slowed to 3min apart (which is why I was sitting..hoping the midwives would make it). I honestly believe that if I hadn't sat, they wouldn't have made it. They were only here for 40 minutes before I was holding my little princess.

Anywho, I labored in the tub outside with my 8 year old and 15 month old in there as well. They were in the tub until Haylie's head was crowning. My youngest (Chase) wanted out so big sis and him climbed out of the tub and THAT is when Haylie's head emerged. It was magnificent!

During labor I was actually singing (THROUGH THE HAAAAAAAARD ONES TOO!) and also talking to Haylie. I would say "come on sweet baby girl. We wanna meet you. Good girl, come on down".

Dh jumped into the tub right before Haylie's head came out. He put his hands down (as did I) and TOGETHER we delivered our baby girl. Born right into mommy and daddy's arms. SOOO serene!

We spent the next 20 minutes admiring her, singing to her and kissing her, in the water. We waited for the cord to stop pulsing and I let them cut the cord so I could stand up to deliver the placenta. The cord was JUST long enough for her to come to my chest so had I tried to stand it wouldn't have worked. So we cut the cord and I delivered the placenta (which I dehydrated and encapsuled and now take orally everyday).

Now for the stats...

Haylie Peyton weighed in at 7lbs 7oz and was 21 inches long. She's AMAZING and im soooo in love!!

We didnt get a TON of pics since it happened FAST! 3 hours of HARD labor start to finish!! The best part is that is was pretty pain free. I've always hears about orgasmic births but never had I expreienced it first hand. It was so beautiful. The only thing that hurt was the end. I went from transition to holding her, in 3 minutes.

BTW... the midwife who checked me earlier that day had said I was 4cm but she could easily stretch me a LOT! Well, after the birth she informed me that she was able to stetch me to 8!!!! Crazy! My body was sooooo ready!

And now for some photos of my pretty princess...

Wow, you're birth sounded amazing, I was surprised you had your pool outside, that's something that I wouldn't of thought of and I'm sure would of been frowned upon here. I can imagine it being very relaxing and peaceful outside.

Little Haylie is absolutely gorgeous, she really, really is too. In the first picture at 4hrs she doesn't even look newborn... she's just stunning and perfect. :love2:

Congratulations. :D

LOL, I can relate, Amelia was just the same and at 8months is still not much better.

I just watched your slideshow and it gave me goosebumps. It was absolutely beautiful, amazing... you looked so unbelievably calm and relaxed. There is one photo, I think it is the first one of the series of you lent over the side of the pool and it's just a beautiful photo. Thank you so much for sharing...

All of your babies are gorgeous.

I think it's FANTASTIC that you're still nursing!! So many women give up LONG before then. I've been tempted to give up myself.

Between latch problems, cracked/blistered/bleeding nipples, mastitis (in BOTH breasts), engorgement, and clogged ducts, i've considered it. I know I would regret it though. It means a LOT to me to nurse my little ones. Plus there's a chance this may be our last child. So I have only one shot left to do it right. I wanna nurse her until SHE is ready to stop....even if she's a few years old.

It really was peaceful and relaxing. I loved having the kids take part in the birth too. I just wish my oldest was here for it. He was at gradnma's house. There was no time for them to get here.

Awww thanks :) Im pretty fond of them myself hehehe

Thanks... I'm fortunate enough to have not had any problems in the last 8months. I'm not sure what age I'm going to nurse upto but at the way she's going I don't think she ever will! lol.
