Kyra is 11 months and she is already biting and hiting. At first I thought it was nothing and she would just grow out of it. But we were in church last sunday and I was standing up holding her and she bit me hard on my should. I looked at her and firmly told her no, and she hit me in the face. What do you do in situations like that? I'm not for spanking or poping at all. What other alternatives do I have.
I thought I had a couple years before things like this happen.

Hey mama... You're doing the right thing. This is actually the age where they start pushing the limit. They'll raise their voices more, smack, pull hair, etc. At this age it's not to be violent, but more to get attention...a reaction.
Keep doing what you're doing. A firm "NO" and holding her hands down for a few seconds may do the trick. Whatever you decide to do just be consistant.
Huge hugs to you. I know how trying this can be. Just remember you're doing great and keep at it :)
I know how hard this age is. You are doing great! I usually do that too and then try to redirect their attention to something else. :)

I agree :) consistency is key...and be sure not to let her get away with it. I'm sure it will pass soon and she will learn a better way to get attention :D be sure to make a big deal out of good behavior so she tries to get attention that way :)

Oh boy so it has begun...the head strong days are something fun to see. She is definitely testing her boundaries. I found holding their hand and saying no and then ouch worked with my three plus assorted nieces and nephews. Good luck.
