Ok, here is my story...
My proper contractions stated about 1:30 in the morning on sunday(UK time) and they were coming every 4 minutes, so I have called the hospital and they told me to go in.When I arrived there, they have checked me over and they told me I was ONLY 1.5 CM DILATED.OMG...I thought I was gonna die. They said that since the contractions are so close together and I lived 40-50 minutes away from the hospital, I'll be able to stay at the hospital. My contractions were sooooooooo painfull and all the time I kept thinking that I will do it with only gas and air. 14 Hours in the labour I was 9.5 cm dilated but after anther 3 hours I was still only 9.5 cm dilated. 20 hours into labour baby Alex came at 20.00 hr in the night on 27/01/2008 weight 7lbs 8oz.
I can't tell you how tired I was and how much this took out of me.
PS: My fear was that I am going to have stitches but fortunatealy I had NONE OF THEM!!!:p
Now let's see your story

Here's mine...
Around 7.30pm on Sunday night I was sat chatting to my new GREAT friends on YT Chat when Kim, (Simonandhallie), told me off AGAIN for not having had the baby yet! Apparently everyone had their hopes up because I hadn't been online all day. Kim signed off the chat and I swear within 10minutes I was having mild contractions!!! I asked Amber, (Amber_lv), if she thought they sounded like contractions cuz I was expecting something stronger than how they started and she was pretty sure that they were. Thought I'd set a baseline of pain relief with some paracetamol.
Around 9.50pm my contractions were coming every 6minutes and lasting 45seconds but still pretty bareable. I phoned the hospital and they said that if I felt comfortable at home I could stay there till I was getting contractions every 2-3minutes and lasting 60seconds or more, they recommended I had a bath and told me to phoned them later when I was leaving. So I went and had a bath, much to everyone on YT Chat's horror as they all thought I should of been long gone to the hospital but things work different over here in the UK and the hospital is only 5minutes from my home.
At 1am my contractions were 3-4minutes about and lasting over a minute so we figured we'd better go to the hospital. By this point I'd only taken paracetamol! We got the hospital and the midwife checked me over, I was only 2cm dialated!!! So they gave me some Codine and paracetamol, and I laid on the bed playing a game on the DS with Chris! (Yep, this is how good I delt with the pain!!!)
About 2.30am the contractions were getting pretty bad so the midwife asked me if I wanted to have a bath. We went down to the bath and I kept topping it up with warm water for about 40minutes before the contractions were getting too bad for me to feel comfortable in the bath. I got out the bath and suddenly was getting contractions 1-2minutes apart, no sooner had I recovered from one the next was starting, I was trying to get dry and go back to my labor suite but couldn't cuz of the pain but eventually managed it. Got back to the room and the midwife examined me but I was still only 6cm dialated so she asked if I wanted some pethadine so it would give me a break. So I had the injection and 20minutes later me and Chris were laying on the bed and I was almost drifting off.
Next thing I knew the pethadine had worn off and it felt like I'd only just had it like 20minutes ago but when I looked at the clock it was about 7.20am! I couldn't have anymore till 7.50am but the contractions were AWFUL and I mean AWFUL!!! I said to my midwife that the last 3 contractions had made me feel like I needed to push so she examined me again and said that I was fine to push but because I was in established labor and baby was ready to be pushed out I couldn't have anymore pain relief!!!
I pushed for an hour and a halfish with NO pain relief what so ever! I had a canister of gas and air but I didn't like the effect it had, it was making me sick and dizzy and my midwife was trying to get me to use it but I couldn't, at one point I was actually sick on the bed!
Finally with Chris sat behind me I pushed her out at 9.37am weighing 7lb 4oz! So much for her being small and not growing at the right speed!!! She started crying the moment she landed on the bed and didn't stop for HOURS! lol. I had to have internal (3cm) and external (4cm) stutches and was finally moved up onto the ward at 2.30pm after something to eat and a bath. She's absolutely perfect. She was the only baby on the ward who slept right through the night and I had to wake her for a feed!

if all labor was like mine I would have tons of kids. Even though I wanted an epidural I had a natural delivery, but not bychoice.. My water broke at home around 3:30am but I didn't know it. I had just finished using the bathroom (#1) and started to get back in bed when I felt a little drip come out. I thought I had peed a little on myself. So I went to change clothes. by this time my mom had called to check on me. (I was normally awake at that time online). Well she told me she thought it was my water, so I called my BF at work to come home to get me to go to the hospital. we got to the hospital around 4:00am and that is when my water really broke. Around 5:15 they finally got my step results back and said it was ok for the epidural. 6:20 right after they finish putting in the epidural they told me it was going to take 20 minutes to kick in.. Well I said I could not wait and needed to push.. at 6:30 Nikyra was born... Then my legs went numb.. lol.. But she was worth every minute of it all!!

I had no pain relief when it came down to pushing too... I wouldn't say it wasn't painful but it was bareable and once you get to hold your baby you forget the pain anyway! :D

That's true...I have had an epidural and I hated it after that because even now 3 months after I have verry bad back aches, and sometimes my back gets blocked in one position

LMAO! I will be sure not to!
Well, I had Kristin when I was 19. The labour was spectacular and pain free (God Bless the epidural!) and I pushed for one hour and a half and I guess the dr was impatient because she decided to yank her out right then and there instead of letting her ease out naturally. Well, thanks to that dr I had a 4th degree tear from front to back and couldn't sit right for 3-4 weeks! I also contracted a uterine infection, UTI and yeast infection after her birth! She was 8 lbs and 8 oz.
I was so scared to go through that again with my next one as you can imagine. lol But his birth was better. Just very looong. He was born after 7 mins of pushing and was 9 lbs and 5 oz. I just bled a lot after having him and that was pretty scary.
With Jack, I went in for my 40 wk appt and he sent me for an U/S cause he was going to induce me that week cause I was measuring very large. AT the U/S, we not only discovered that he was breech but that he was estimated weighing 11 lbs! So, I was shipped off to the OR the next day and had myself a 10 lb, 15 oz baby boy. He had to stay a few days in the NICU because he had aspirated some fluid on the way out but was doing very well and was rooming in with us by the 3rd day. That was very scary and upsetting as well as having the section cause that was not easy to recover from while having kids.
Glen and I decided we are done though. It is a lot of work but worth it. If it ever happens again, we will be happy but as of now are quite content the way things are!
Thanks for reading!:)

Here is mine... (I'll try not to go into much detail)
I went in for my appointment, on my due date, and I was soooo swollen. My feet were so big that it was just painful to walk. :( My doctor decided that it wasn't doing good for me or the baby to keep going so he sent me right on to the hospital. This was a Monday. Nothing else really happened that night. I just rested up. The next morning they tried to get my body to contract but after hours and hours of trying I just wouldn't, so they gave me medicine to stop contracting.
Wednesday morning they gave me something called a cervadil (sp). It looked like a tampon and it helped me dilate. This thing worked. LOL Within a few hours I was contracting and call me superwoman but it wasn't all that bad. I never asked for pain medicine or an epidural, my mom talked me into it. My brother was almost ten pounds and she was in a lot of pain with us kids so I agreed and was given pain medication through an IV and later on got the epidural. I had only slight pressure and kept telling my mom I was having lower pressure and they called for a nurse and I was ready to push. I gave birth to a baby boy, Chase. He was 7 lbs 12 oz. Perfect. :) This was all easy but I bled really bad afterwards. If I tried to walk I would darn near pass out. It was so scary. They had problems getting me to stop bleeding. I vowed no more children, but I'm over that now. LOL

Well I'll share both of mine.
Allissa Grace came 9.19.05 @ 2:37am, around 4pm on 9.18 i started feeling trickling, so i went to the hossy, i was checked and my midwife swore she felt trickling so they did the strip test on me and it was + for amnio. fluid (i was 5 days away from my EDD) i was hooked up to monitors and was contracting regularly on my own every 2-3 minutes but never felt them, so i was induced around 7pm, had an epi around 12am that never kicked in, 15 minutes of pushing and out came allissa weighing 7lbs 8oz and was 20.5 inches long :)
Trevor came 4 days late on his own free will, i started having contrax around 8:30pm, i was having them off and on every 2 minutes for a week but they'd stop after about 4-5 of them, so i knew something was up when i started having bad lower back pain, i went potty and saw blood and freaked out, so my dh called an ambulance as i had to give birth at the hospital that would be equipped to deal with his heart defect which was almost 45 minutes away, J has anxiety and couldnt drive me, so i chatted on the phone for a few minutes with Heather81 and the ambulance whisked me away, around 10pm i got to the hossy and was 5cm and i think 85% effaced, by 11pm (i think) an hour later, i was 8cm and 100%, i had an epi and dh continued to talk to Heather81 on the phone, the epi worked great! however Trev wasn't waiting to come out, i kept feeling the urge to push very shortly after the epi, so i was whisked away to the OR so the NICU team could be there for him, at 1am i turned to say something to the nurse and when i rolled back i felt him coming out, dr's told me to go ahead and push even though i was still only 9cm, they had to help him come out, 2 doctors and a med student!! he came out face up (like i knew he would) at 1:09am 9 minutes of pushing, and he was 9lbs 11oz and 21 inches long!! VERY VERY big for a baby with that heart defect!! i mean the doctors were in awe at how big he was for having HLHS! he was whisked away immediately, we saw him briefly for a moment before he went to the NICU. and im going to stop there as its upsetting me to think about it
