How and why did you pick yours and did you have more than one?


I picked my BF to be mine so I could call him names to his face! :hehe:

Hubby is always there of course but with my last birth I had a doula. I myself AM a doula so I know how wonderfully healpful they can be. I swear if it weren't for her I would have walked out of the hopital with the baby's head half out. I had a horrible experience. She was the only positive aspect of the situation.

This time around I will be birthing at home so it will be me, DH, the kiddo's, the midwife and a close friend (to act as my doula). I want a quite and relaxed atmosphere.

No matter who you choose or how many you choose, you need to be comfortable in that situation. If not, it's a recipe for disaster.

Looking back now, I wish I had asked for my midwife to leave and send in another because she was really bugging me and I wanted to scream at her at one point! :rolleyes2:

im sorry :( You probably should have told her to step out. If mama's not comfy then all hell can break loose!

Doesn't surprise me. You're in a very fragile state and when someone aggrivates you or makes you uncomfortable, that's bound to happen.
