I read that nursing holds off your menstrual cycle... I was more than happy with this concept... but today that doesn't seem to be the case. :(

Am I just unlucky or did this happen with others too?

It doesn't hold it off all the time. That is why they say even though your nursing you need to be careful of getting pregnant.

Personally it didn't hold off my cycle either.

Nursing CAN prevent you from ovulating, but it's no guarantee. Some women get their periods a few weeks after the birth (I was 7 weeks post partum) and others don't get it for a year or more.

Wish I'd of fallen into the lucky few of a year or more! :rolleyes2:

I got my period about 4 weeks after having Gavin and I am nursing. Did not last long for me. I read that also that it could delay your period...could is the key word. Doctor said to be careful because could get prego easily in the 2-3 months post pregnancy. Actually I am looking forward to having number #2. As soon as our doctor bills are paid we are going got number 2.

I only bled for a week too but I was luck enough to last a few months before my cycle started again. Oh the joys. :rolleyes:
